My stepfather, James “Bull” Duhan, passed away yesterday from complications related to his cancer. He was 42. He loved my mom very much and I know she was very happy with him. And even though I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with him, I really liked him too. He was a great man. A truly great man, and now he’s moved on to be in a better place. No longer will he suffer.
His last request to everyone who cared about him or he cared about was that no matter how small, find joy in each and every day.
There will be no funeral per his request. He will be cremated. Some of his ashes will be spread out on their property in Norwood, where is father’s ashes were left as he always loved his native Georgia. Some will be sent down the colorodo river because he alwasy wanted to float through the grand canyon. His biker brothers will place some into their bikes so he can always be riding.
Bull, you made my mother a very happy woman in the short time you had together and I know she would do it all again if she had the chance. You touched each of us, her children, and we all love you just as much. There is an empty place in our family now that can’t be filled, but I know you’ll look down on us and be with us always.
Until we meet again, in the next world or this. Rest in peace.
